Honest comparison for solo operators

FieldService vs Jobber

Jobber is more software. FieldService is $15/month and the quote → invoice loop — for people who think Jobber is too much.

We do not beat Jobber on dispatch, two-way SMS, reviews, or payments. We win on price and how simple it is to turn a signed quote into an invoice.

No credit card required. $15/month after the trial. One user.

FieldService Basic

$15/month

One user. Requests, customers, estimates, jobs, invoices. 7-day trial, no card.

Jobber Core (typical solo price)

~$39–69/month

One user on Core. Connect and Grow cost more. Jobber sets its own prices — confirm on their site.

Price wedge only. A cheaper product is not a better dispatch, SMS, review, or payments product. Housecall Pro is typically higher still (~$59–79 for one user); this page is about Jobber.

Side by side, without the spin

If a feature is not shipped in FieldService, we say so. We do not sell stubs.

Where FieldService wins

Price, and quote → invoice

  • $15 instead of Jobber money

If you are one person quoting and invoicing, you should not need a $39–69 tool to send a signed estimate and an invoice.

  • The loop is short

Request in. Estimate out. They sign on the link. Same line items become the invoice. No second app, no retyping the job.

  • Less product to learn

Jobber is built for shops that grow into dispatch and marketing. FieldService is the working loop for the person who also does the work.

Where Jobber wins

Dispatch, SMS, reviews, payments

  • Dispatch & scheduling

If you send techs to jobs, Jobber is the better product. We do not have a dispatch board.

  • Two-way SMS

FieldService does not send text messages today. Stay on Jobber if two-way SMS is how you run the day.

  • Reviews

We do not ask customers for Google reviews. Jobber does.

  • Payments

You can take a card on a FieldService invoice and log a check. Jobber’s payments stack is deeper. We do not claim to beat them.

Who should pick which

Try FieldService if

  • You work alone (or almost alone) and Jobber feels like extra software
  • You mainly need to quote, do the job, and invoice
  • $15/month is the budget, not $39–69

Stay on Jobber if

  • You dispatch a crew and need their scheduler
  • Two-way SMS, review asks, or Jobber Payments are how you operate
  • You already live in Jobber and those features earn their keep

Questions, answered

Do you have dispatch like Jobber?

No. We track jobs. We do not have a dispatch board, tech routing, or Jobber-style scheduling.

Do you do two-way SMS?

No. FieldService does not send SMS today. Email notifications for viewed / signed / paid are what we ship.

Can I collect reviews?

Not in FieldService. Jobber wins on review requests.

Can customers pay invoices?

They can pay a card on the invoice link (Stripe), or you can record a check or cash. That is not Jobber’s payments product. We do not beat Jobber on payments.

Is this $15 plan for a team?

Basic is one user. If you need seats for a crew, Jobber is built for that.

Are the Jobber prices exact?

No. Jobber’s public Core pricing for one user commonly lands around $39–69/month depending on monthly vs annual billing. They change prices. Check getjobber.com/pricing.
