For lawn service operators
Lawn care software without a route board you will not open
Seasonal cleanups, weekly mows, and one-off jobs — quoted, tracked, and invoiced at $15/month. If you need optimized routes for four crews, Jobber still wins.

Lawn care software ads lead with routing, recurring visits, and skip-a-week logic. That is the product you want when Monday is 40 lawns and a trailer map. A lot of lawn businesses are still one operator, a spring rush of cleanup quotes, and customers who pay after the mow if you remember to text them. FieldService is the second business. We will not pretend we are the first.
Weekly work dies in the notes app. Seasonal work dies in the inbox.
Spring: everyone wants a cleanup quote this week. You write prices in texts, then lose which property included the bed edging. Summer: you know the route in your head until you do not. Fall: aeration and overseed need a real estimate because it is not the weekly rate.
Jobber is strong at recurring lawn care. FieldService does not auto-generate every Friday’s invoices. What it does is keep the property, the last quote, and a way to get paid without another $40–70 on a seasonal P&L.
- → Cleanup and aeration quoted as documents, not texts.
- → Gate codes, dogs, and HOA notes on the customer — not in your head.
- → An invoice after the visit they can pay before you are on the next street.

How a lawn job moves through FieldService
Step 1
Quote the property
Spring cleanup, weekly mow, or aeration as line items. Same customer can hold last year’s cleanup and this week’s mow.
Step 2
They accept
Especially on the bigger seasonal tickets. Weekly mows you may convert yourself after a yes on the phone — still a customer record either way.
Step 3
Job on the address
Checklist: mow, edge, blow, beds. Status tells you what is done when you look at the phone in the truck.
Step 4
Invoice the visit or the season
One visit or a billed package — you write the invoice. They pay the link or you record cash from the mailbox.
Lawn service line items that belong on paper
Weekly / biweekly mow
You still schedule it. We store the rate and the property so invoicing is not a memory test.
Spring & fall cleanup
The quotes that should never live only in iMessage.
Aeration & overseed
A real estimate. Homeowners compare these.
Fertilization visits
Track the customer even if you are not a full chemical program software.
Bush hog / one-off
The jobs that are not on a route still need an invoice.
Property notes
Dogs, gates, HOA, where the extra can goes. On the customer, not a sticky note.
Fit for lawn service — with the gap named
This is
- → Seasonal estimates and one-off jobs with signatures and invoices.
- → Customer + property history for the lawns you already know.
- → $15/month instead of a lawn-care suite you use as a glorified invoice tool.
- → Stripe on the invoice for people who never have cash on them.
This is not
Named so you do not bounce later
- – Route optimization or a map of tomorrow’s lawns.
- – Automatic recurring invoices every Friday.
- – Skip-a-week / weather skip workflows.
- – Multi-crew dispatch. Basic is one user.
Jobber is the lawn-care incumbent. That is fine.
Jobber grew up on lawn and landscape. If you have crews, recurring visits, and you want the software to drive the week, stay there or look at landscape-specific tools. FieldService is for the operator who is still the route, who needs spring quotes in writing, and who does not want to rent a dispatch product to send invoices. Price is $15 versus Jobber Core commonly around $39–69 for one user. Confirm Jobber on their site.
FieldService vs Jobber — the honest comparison for solo operators.
What is lawn care business software?
Lawn care software is the system around mowing and property maintenance: customers, properties, recurring schedules, routing, estimates for seasonal work, and invoicing. The high-intent searches are “lawn care software” and “lawn care business software.” Many ranking pages assume you need routing. Some operators only need documents and a customer list. This page is written for that split.
Questions lawn service companies ask
Does FieldService do recurring lawn billing?
No automatic recurring invoices or visit series. You create the job and the invoice when you do the work, on a customer you already have.
Can I keep gate codes and pet notes?
Yes, on the customer record with the property address. That is the point of not starting from scratch every Tuesday.
Is this landscaping software?
It works for maintenance lawn work and for install quotes you write yourself. It is not takeoff or plant-database landscaping CAD.
What if I add a second trailer next year?
Basic is one user and has no dispatch board. Plan on Jobber or a crew product when the calendar is the bottleneck, not the invoice.
Can customers pay after a mow without an account?
Yes. Invoice link, card via Stripe, or you record cash/check.
How much is lawn care software from FieldService?
$15/month after a 7-day trial. Same product as every other trade — the lawn-specific part is the workflow, not a separate app.
